Occupational Therapy Essex is seeking a skilled Band 6-7 Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our new Experts at Hand Team, working in partnership with Havering Local Authority as part of preparations for SEND Reform.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a pioneering service designed to help schools identify needs earlier, provide targeted support, and improve inclusion for children and young people with SEND.

About the Role
As an Occupational Therapist within the Experts at Hand Team, you will:
✅ Assess and support children and young people within educational settings
✅ Deliver individual and group interventions focused on:
- Sensory regulation
- Motor skill development
- Participation in learning
- Organisation and executive functioning
- Transitions and independence
✅ Provide training and coaching to school staff
✅ Carry out environmental audits and offer practical recommendations for inclusive classrooms
✅ Work collaboratively with families, schools, SENCOs, and multidisciplinary teams
✅ Provide supervision and support to junior therapists, assistants, students and apprentices
✅ Contribute to service development, quality improvement and clinical excellence

About You
We're looking for a confident and compassionate Occupational Therapist who has:
- BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC Registration
- RCOT/BAOT Membership
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience
- Significant paediatric experience
- Experience managing complex caseloads independently
- Strong knowledge of Autism, ADHD and DCD
- Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills
- Understanding of the EHCP process
- Experience supervising junior staff, assistants or students
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car
- Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)
