We’re known for delivering a premium customer experience, from showroom to installation, and we’re now looking for a Operations Manager to join our Swansea team.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a dedicated, organised and proactive Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of the business and ensure the efficient running of every department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our installation teams, overseeing both retail showrooms, coordinating customer enquiries, managing the installation diary and ensuring every installation is completed to the highest standard.
This is a varied, hands-on management role that requires excellent organisational skills, strong leadership, commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. The ideal candidate will be confident working with both customers and staff, have strong computer skills, and be capable of making decisions that keep the business running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Manage the day-to-day operation of Osborne Jones Fireplaces and oversee the smooth running of all operational activities.
- Ensure efficient communication between the office, showrooms and installation teams using our internal system.
- Continuously improve operational systems and procedures.
Installation Team Management
- Lead and manage all fireplace installation teams.
- Schedule and allocate work efficiently.
- Ensure company procedures and installation standards are followed.
Diary & Scheduling
- Manage the installation diary.
- Schedule installations, servicing and maintenance work.
- Allocate labour and resources efficiently.
- Reorganise schedules when required due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Book jobs and maintain accurate records using the company's management systems.
Customer Service & Sales
- Manage customer enquiries.
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ensure every customer receives an exceptional experience throughout their project.
Showroom Management
Take responsibility for the daily operation of both Osborne Jones Fireplaces showrooms by ensuring:
- High presentation standards.
- Excellent customer service.
- Stock availability.
- Product displays are maintained.
- Health & Safety compliance.
- Opening and closing procedures are followed.
Health & Safety
- Promote a strong health and safety culture.
- Carry out Health & Safety checks.
- Ensure engineers comply with company safety procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of tools, equipment and vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with all current legislation and company policies.
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Ensure safe manual handling practices are followed.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following skills,
- Previous experience in an Operations Manager or similar leadership role preferably in a service based business.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Experience using scheduling or job management software.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Experience managing operational teams.
- Good mechanical understanding and practical problem-solving ability.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and remain calm under pressure.
- Basic mathematical skills for operational reporting and stock management.
Experience within the construction, heating, fireplace or home improvement industry would be advantageous but is not essential.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
