Are you passionate about counselling and inspiring the next generation of practitioners? Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated Counselling Lecturer to join our expanding team.
You will deliver high-quality teaching and support across our established counselling pathway, working with adult learners initially on Levels 1, 2, and, with plans to then progress onto the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Subject to awarding body tutor approval).
Our courses provide a clear progression route and focus on developing the skills, knowledge and self-awareness needed for professional practice. Teaching is delivered in a supportive, student-centred environment, combining theory, practical skills and reflective learning to prepare students for real-world counselling settings.
This role will involve delivering both daytime and evening sessions both at Abingdon and Witney campuses. The anticipated teaching days are currently Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, although these may be subject to change.

About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual who is committed to supporting learner success. Strong communication and active listening skills are important, along with the ability to model good practice in a supportive and approachable way. A high level of empathy and emotional awareness is valued, together with a sound understanding of ethical frameworks, such as BACP guidelines.
Essential:

Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Qualified teacher (or willingness to work towards qualification).
- Working as a qualified counsellor and registered with a professional body.
- Passion for counselling and education.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Experience teaching within the curriculum area.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills.
- Ability to engage diverse groups of learners.
- Strong pastoral and tutorial support skills.
Desirable:

Any successful candidates will be required to complete a structured training pathway, unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two-week teacher induction (must be completed within probation), followed by the Award in Education and Training (AET) including Assessor is required, and then the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. Completition of this structured learning programme is expected within 3 years. Furthermore, there is the option to pursue Qualified Teacher Learning Status (QTLS).
