Receptionist – Oxford Cat Clinic (Botley) and Oxford Vet Clinic (Marston)
We're looking for a warm, organised receptionist to join our team across both of our Oxford veterinary practices.
This role provides flexible cover for holidays, sickness and busy periods across our two independent practices in Botley and Marston, Oxford.
We're an independent practice, locally owned and run by Mel Weatherall and her family, caring for the pets of Oxford since 2006.
Our ethos and values come straight from Mel and the team – providing thoughtful, high-quality care with a calm, friendly approach tailored to every patient’s needs.
We’re proud to be a cat only practice at our Botley branch, while we’ve welcomed dogs and other pets at our Marston branch since 2025.
We love the difference we can make to local pet owners’ lives and it’s important to us that every member of the team is dedicated to providing the very best service.
Reception is the first face our clients and their pets see, so we need someone friendly, calm under pressure and good with people.
Day to day, you'll be welcoming clients, managing bookings and general queries, answering the phones and email, taking payments and handling the admin that keeps the practice running – from insurance claims and health plan queries to cashing up at the end of the day.
No two days are quite the same, and it's a role that rewards someone who can think on their feet and take real pride in looking after people well.
You'll need a proven track record in a customer-service based role, sharp attention to detail and the resilience to stay unflappable when things get busy. Confidence with Excel, Word and Gmail and Outlook is important, as are good spoken and written English. An interest in pets is a lovely bonus – but people will be at the heart of your day.
