Flexible Support Worker – 30 Hours per Week (Female only due to the vulnerability group)

About the role
RVH Support Services Ltd is seeking an experienced, compassionate and dependable Support Worker to join our growing team.
This is a flexible role involving travel to different locations across Aberdeenshire. You will support a range of individuals in their own homes and communities, helping them maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
The successful applicant must be able to work flexibly according to the needs of the service. This may include daytime, evening and weekend shifts. Rotas will be planned and communicated in advance wherever possible.
Key responsibilities
- Provide person-led support that respects each individual’s choices, rights, dignity and independence.
- Travel between service users in different locations across Aberdeenshire.
- Support individuals with daily routines and agreed personal outcomes.
- Assist with meal preparation, shopping, domestic tasks and maintaining a safe home environment.
- Provide companionship and support people to access their local community.
- Support with medication where this forms part of the individual’s care plan and appropriate training has been completed.
- Observe and report changes in a person’s health, wellbeing or circumstances.
- Maintain accurate, clear and confidential care records.
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and organisational procedures.
- Safeguard individuals from harm and report any concerns promptly.
- Communicate professionally with service users, families, colleagues and other professionals.
- Work independently while remaining accountable to the wider team.
- Attend supervision, team meetings and required training.
- Provide additional cover when reasonably required to support continuity of care.
Essential requirements
- Previous experience in a support worker, care-at-home or similar role.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle for work.
- Ability to travel across Aberdeenshire.
- Flexibility to work across different locations and shift times, including agreed weekends.
- A compassionate, respectful and person-led approach.
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work safely and confidently without direct supervision.
- Reliability and a clear understanding of professional responsibility.
- Willingness to complete required training and ongoing professional development.
- Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme, or willingness to join.
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council, or willingness and eligibility to register within the required timescale.
Desirable
- Relevant SVQ qualification in Health and Social Care.
- Experience supporting older adults or people with disabilities, mental health needs or additional support needs.
- Experience with medication support, outcome-focused care and community-based working.
