We are looking for a Production & Purchasing Coordinator to help manage supplier relationships, oversee production workflows, and ensure every order is delivered to the highest possible standard.
This is a hands-on operational role in a busy SME environment, where your attention to detail, organisation, and ability to get things done will make a real difference.
The Role.
You will sit at the centre of our production process, coordinating orders from confirmation through to manufacture and dispatch.
Working closely with our supplier network, you will help ensure the right supplier is chosen for each job, balancing quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
A key part of the role is reviewing artwork and approving supplier proofs, ensuring every job goes into production accurately.
At times you will also need to negotiate with suppliers and find creative solutions when timelines are tight or production challenges arise. This role suits someone who enjoys solving problems, communicating confidently, and making things happen.
What You Will Be Responsible For.
Production Coordination:
- Managing orders as they move through the production process.
- Tracking work in progress to ensure delivery commitments are met.
- Coordinating timelines between internal teams and suppliers to ensure orders move smoothly from approval through to dispatch.
- Ensuring orders progress smoothly from approval to dispatch.
Supplier Management & Negotiation:
- Liaising with suppliers at all stages of manufacture.
- Selecting the most appropriate supplier based on quality, cost, and lead time.
- Negotiating pricing or timelines when required.
- Working with suppliers to resolve production challenges quickly.
- Building strong, reliable supplier relationships.
Quality Control:
- Reviewing artwork files and production specifications.
- Checking and approving supplier proofs before production begins.
- Ensuring finished products meet the required specifications.
- Helping prevent costly production errors.
Costing & Order Processing:
- Producing print estimates and costings.
- Generating purchase orders for suppliers.
- Supporting internal teams with pricing, availability, and timelines.
- Preparing documentation for dispatch and export orders.
Process & Operational Support:
- Supporting improvements to production workflows.
- Helping refine processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Assisting management with operational and administrative tasks where required.
- Supporting dispatch when required, including packing orders, preparing pallets and occasional lifting (up to approximately 20kg). As a small team, everyone plays their part in keeping orders moving out the door.
- Helping where needed to keep business operations running smoothly.

Desirable (But Not Essential as training given):
- Experience in print, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
- Familiarity with artwork files or print specifications.

Pay: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
