Are you a chemistry graduate or experienced chemist looking for a role beyond the laboratory? Do you enjoy solving problems, working as part of a team, and making a tangible difference to environmental compliance and waste management?
We're looking for a Site Chemist to join our Cannock Transfer Station and play a vital role in ensuring waste is managed, processed, and disposed of safely, compliantly, and efficiently.
What You'll Be Doing
No two days are the same. You'll combine scientific expertise with operational responsibility, helping to manage incoming and outgoing waste streams while supporting site compliance and environmental standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
? Inspecting incoming waste loads and verifying they meet acceptance criteria
? Conducting sampling, testing, and basic wet chemistry analysis
? Identifying and raising non-conformances where required
? Preparing and coordinating outgoing waste loads with disposal outlets
? Managing stock control and environmental compliance requirements
? Completing consignment notes and site documentation
? Supporting safe waste segregation, storage, and movement across site
? Maintaining high housekeeping, safety, and compliance standards throughout the Transfer Station
As you develop in the role, you'll also have opportunities to support customer sites with waste listing and load preparation activities.
