About Us
We are a growing private training academy in Newport delivering professional hair and beauty education. As part of our expansion, we are looking for a passionate and reliable Hairdressing Tutor to support our Junior Hairdressing Academy (ages 11–15).
This is an after-school club environment focused on building confidence, creativity, teamwork, and practical hairdressing skills in a fun and structured setting.
The Role
You will be teaching small groups of young learners practical and theory-based sessions in:
- Hair washing and preparation
- Blow-drying techniques
- Hair styling and hair-up creations
- Curling and straightening techniques
- Basic braiding and plaiting
- Introduction to cutting theory
- Hair health and care
- Health & safety basics
The role involves delivering structured sessions while keeping lessons engaging, age-appropriate, and confidence-building.
What We're Looking ForEssential:
- Qualified and experienced in hairdressing
- Confident working with children aged 11–15
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, reliable and organised
- Passionate about inspiring young people
Desirable (but not essential):
- Teaching or assessing experience
- Previous experience working with children
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 Hairdressing qualification
- Salon experience
Training and support will be provided.
