Good with your hands? Join us at the beginning of something special!
Salveo Care is a family-owned care provider based in Wendover. We currently operate Cherry Tree House, our established 20-bed residential care home, and later this year we'll be opening Wendover Manor, a new purpose-built 55-bed care home just a short distance away.
We're growing our Facilities & Maintenance team and are looking for someone practical, reliable and proactive who takes genuine pride in keeping things safe, working properly and looking their best.
About The Role
You'll initially have the opportunity to get to know Cherry Tree House, our residents and our team before becoming part of the transition to Wendover Manor.
As a Facilities & Maintenance Operative, you'll support the day-to-day maintenance, presentation and upkeep of the home, helping ensure the building, equipment, grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard.
Day to day, this could include:
- General repairs and handyperson duties.
- Minor decorating, plumbing, joinery and maintenance work.
- Responding to maintenance requests and spotting problems before they get worse.
- Routine health & safety and fire checks.
- Helping prepare residents' rooms and move furniture.
- Maintaining safe and welcoming external areas.
- Supporting contractors and servicing visits.
- Keeping maintenance and testing records up to date.
- Helping with room set-ups, events and anything else that keeps the home running smoothly.
Who we're looking for?
You don't necessarily need to be qualified in every trade. We're looking for someone with good practical maintenance and repair skills, confidence using tools safely and the common sense to know what you can deal with yourself and when something needs specialist attention.
You'll be organised, dependable and able to work independently, with a good understanding of basic health & safety. Most importantly, you'll have an eye for detail and pride in your surroundings - you're the sort of person who notices the loose handle, scuffed wall or wonky picture before someone has to ask.
You'll be working in residents' home so you'll also need to be friendly, approachable and comfortable chatting with residents, families and colleagues.
Why Salveo Care?
We're family-owned, locally rooted and passionate about doing care differently. We believe the environment people live in matters. A home that is safe, cared for and beautifully maintained helps people feel comfortable, valued and proud of where they live.
Joining us ahead of Wendover Manor opening means you'll also have the unusual opportunity to help bring a brand-new care home to life, learn the building from the beginning and become part of the team that will look after it for years to come.
Benefits include:
Staff meals • Employee Assistance Programme • Blue Light Card discounts • Cycle to Work scheme • Staff parties & social events • Wellness initiatives • Training & development • Opportunities to grow as Wendover Manor develops
