Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Full Time Deli/ Hotfood Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the daily operations of our deli and hotfood sections, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for detail, contributing to a welcoming environment for our customers.
The suitable candidate must be available to work a variety of daytime shifts between Monday - Sunday.
Duties
- Prepare a variety of deli and hotfood items in accordance with company standards and health regulations
- Serve customers efficiently and courteously at the counter, assisting with their selections and providing product information
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the food preparation areas, adhering to food safety standards
- Restock shelves and display cases regularly to ensure product availability and visual appeal
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and recording wastage
- Upsell products to maximise sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Follow all health and safety procedures diligently, including proper handling of food and equipment
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the department
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant environment is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable manner
- Experience in kitchen or culinary roles is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for specific tasks
