Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in assisted living environments, including those with learning disabilities. This role is vital in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our clients, promoting their independence while assisting them with daily activities.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
- Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
- Facilitate social activities and encourage participation in community events to enhance quality of life.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in behaviour or health to the appropriate personnel.
- Drive clients to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transportation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
Requirements
- Previous experience in care or assisted living environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of learning disability care principles and practices is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach towards clients.
- Experience in working with vulnerable populations is beneficial.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients.
- Certification in first aid or relevant healthcare qualifications would be advantageous.
