Senior Estimator – Construction (Sittingbourne, Kent)
Gransden Construction Ltd are a well-established Kent-based main contractor delivering refurbishment, heritage and new build projects across the South East.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Estimator to join our team at our Sittingbourne office, as our current estimator is retiring.
This is a hands-on role within a small, established team, working closely with the directors and supply chain on a wide range of projects typically between £100k and £2m, with increasing opportunities on projects up to £4m.
Role includes:
- Pricing tenders from drawings and specifications
- Preparing detailed take-offs and building up costs from first principles
- Obtaining and reviewing subcontractor quotations and supplier rates
- Producing clear, commercially sound tender submissions, including allowances, exclusions and risk considerations
- Liaising with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Attending tender meetings and supporting pre-construction activities
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contractor environment
- Strong understanding of construction methods and pricing
- Ability to measure works and build up costs independently in a structured, methodical way (BOQ/SMM7 approach beneficial)
- Good knowledge of subcontractor markets and procurement
- Commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a small, office-based team

Salary & Package:
- £50,000 – £65,000 depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate
- 23 days holiday plus bank holidays (31 days total)
