About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Home Manager to lead the opening and registration of a new 4-bed children’s residential home in Birmingham.
This is a unique opportunity to set up a brand-new service with the full backing of a well-established organisation whose existing homes are all rated ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’. You will have the autonomy to shape the culture, build your team, and deliver a high-quality provision from day one.
This role is ideal for a strong leader with experience in Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) who is looking to take ownership of a new service while being supported by a proven and successful provider.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the registration and successful opening of the new residential home
- Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted standards
- Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing staff team
- Deliver high-quality, child-centred care and support
- Conduct supervisions, appraisals, and performance management
- Work in partnership with external professionals, families, and stakeholders
- Attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all young people
- Undertake direct work with young people and act as a positive role model
- Develop systems for consultation and feedback from young people
Essential Requirements
- Recent experience as a Registered Manager within a children’s residential EBD setting
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Child Care (or equivalent)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards)
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding practices
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Minimum age of 21 (in line with regulations)
