This labouring position will involve working on an exciting new commercial project in Sunderland, alongside our hard working team of skilled trades. We specialise in renovation work, meaning we often start from scratch to reimagine the space and achieve the client's vision.
That's what makes this a great opportunity for labourers of any skill set. If you're an experienced labourer, our large scale projects will provide ample scope for you to showcase any knowledge you've picked up along the way. Alternatively, if you're less experienced, this is a great environment to immerse yourself in and learn a lot as we go through projects from start to finish.
A positive attitude is non-negotiable in our close-knit team. Work is consistent and reliable and there are many large projects in the pipeline. Hourly rate will be discussed and fairly agreed based on experience.
All applicants will be asked to attend for a paid trial shift.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including unloading materials and organizing tools
- Support tradespeople with any tasks as required to ensure project progress
- Operate hand tools, power tools, safely and efficiently under supervision
- Follow safety guidelines to complete tasks accurately and securely
- Wearing the correct PPE required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency on-site
- Support finishing tasks, such as painting, as needed to meet project specifications
Are you right for the job:
- Prior labouring or construction experience is great but not essential - a positive attitude and willingness to work hard is more important
- A willingness to assist multiple trades such as plastering, plumbing, joinery
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Team player mindset with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality standards
- Willingness to follow instructions closely while demonstrating a positive work ethic
- Own tools preferred, or a willingness to build up basic hand tools reasonably quickly
