Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled 7.5 Tonne / class 2 Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods to various locations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to customer service and have a thorough understanding of commercial driving regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the integrity of the cargo.
Duties
- Operate a 7.5 tonne / class 2 lorry for the transportation of goods to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working order.
- Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo, particularly when using flatbed configurations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery notes and vehicle logs.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies while driving.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any queries or concerns from clients professionally.
- 1 overnight run maybe required weekly
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with 7.5 tonne or class 2 vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of delivery driver responsibilities and best practices.
- Ability to operate flatbed vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Excellent navigation skills with a good understanding of local roads and traffic patterns.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- A valid UK driving licence with the appropriate category for 7.5 tonne vehicles is essential.
- A commitment to safety and compliance with transport regulations is crucial for this role.
- CPC Card Required.
