The Sussex Cricketer is a new build 220 cover pub and restaurant with a capacity of 420 that opened in late May 2023
We are located at the entrance to the Sussex county cricket club in Hove and have built an excellent reputation for our food, catering and hosting large events, sports, and customer service.
We’re looking for a confident and experienced Assistant Manager to join the team at the Sussex Cricketer in Hove.
This is a full-time role for someone who enjoys busy pubs, takes pride in great service and is comfortable taking responsibility for running shifts and supporting the wider team.
The role will include:
- Running busy shifts and supporting the management team
- Leading, motivating and training the FOH team
- Delivering consistently great customer service
- Opening and closing the pub
- Cash handling and day-to-day operational duties
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and compliance
- Helping create a friendly, well-run pub that both customers and staff enjoy being part of
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous supervisory or management experience in hospitality
- Is confident, organised and reliable
- Leads by example and works well as part of a team
- Is comfortable working in a busy pub environment
- Has a genuine interest in pubs, hospitality and customer service
- Is available to work a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend shifts
