Overview
We are seeking a professional and organised part-time ( 3 days per week) Medical Secretary/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice by providing excellent administrative support and exceptional patient service. The ideal candidate will possess strong office experience, demonstrate excellent organisational skills, and have a friendly, professional demeanour. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment where attention to detail and confidentiality are paramount.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment
- Manage appointment scheduling efficiently using our practice management system
- Answer incoming calls promptly, providing accurate information or directing calls as appropriate
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information as required
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and processing correspondence
- Prepare and manage patient documentation, including referrals and test results
- Liaise with healthcare professionals and insurance providers to facilitate patient care
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy and organised at all times
Qualifications
- Proven office experience, preferably within a healthcare setting
- Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
- Friendly, approachable manner with strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with data protection regulations
- Prior experience in a medical or clinical environment is advantageous but not essential
