Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional care to residents in a supportive environment. As a vital member of our caregiving staff, you will play a key role in assisting residents with daily activities, monitoring their health, and ensuring their comfort and safety. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report changes to healthcare professionals
- Administer medications accurately in line with prescribed directives
- Assist residents with eating and drinking as needed; ensure dietary needs are followed
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and any incidents in compliance with regulatory standards
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement personalised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being
- Contribute to the induction and mentoring of new and junior staff
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings with a focus on elderly or long-term care
- Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring
- Skilled in medication administration following prescribed directives
- Experience working with individuals with age related disabilities is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team in fast-paced environments
