Natural Swimming pools Ltd are a design and build Natural Swimming Pool & Landscaping company based near Cambridge.
Our work is focused mainly on installing high-end natural swimming pools with associated landscaping across the UK, with occasional projects abroad.
Due to our current work load we are expanding and a exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on landscaping team leader.
You will have a background in all types of landscaping, be experienced in leading a team of up to four men, have a commercial awareness in regard to costs and time on site and be passionate in helping grow our business. You will have strong communication skills with the ability to deal directly with clients to make sure a high level of customer service is achieved and that their expectations are met. A strong awareness of health and safety is also required along with representing the company in the best light possible.
You will be responsible for your team’s equipment and machinery, organising materials and working with the company’s directors to ensure works are completed within budget, to the deadlines set and to a high standard.
The right candidate will …
· Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the landscaping industry.
· Hard Landscaping – must be confident working with natural stone, porcelain, granite, limestone and high-end products. This includes experience in laying stone, cutting and tying in around services and walled works with rendering capability.
· Groundworks – concreting, brickwork, drainage, setting out and levels, sub-bases.
· Decking/Timber Work – working with larch and composite decking
· Soft Landscaping – prepping, turfing, planting with a good plant knowledge being advantageous.
· Pipework and plumbing – experience in this would be preferable
· Reading and interpreting site drawings and landscape designs, understanding levels and setting out.
· Extensive experience with tools and machinery of the trade, including how to maintain machinery to ensure it is safe to use each day.
· Problem solving – as an experienced landscaper you will be aware of constant variables on site and will be able to deal with these head on in a proactive way whilst keeping the business and client at the forefront of your decision making.
· Leadership – you will be a confident and clear communicator who understands how to motivate your team and encourage continual self-development and upskilling of those you work with.
· An eye for detail and high finishing standards are crucial to this roll.
· Someone who enjoys working as part of a team but can work on their own initiative.
· Have a full, clean driving license with their own transport to drive to and from our yard near Fenstanton. Company vehicles are used from this base.
· Be prepared to travel and stay away during the working week when necessary
The usual hours of work are 8.00 am to 5.00pm (start/finish on site times) Monday to Friday. 28 days annual leave (including closedown at Christmas and Bank holidays).
Due to the nature and location of some of our projects, working/staying away is a necessity.
Salary: From £35,000 Subject to experience.
