Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist & Occupational Health Technician to join our team in Stratford (E15 1BZ).
This role involves providing high-quality blood collection services and supporting occupational health programmes within a healthcare or corporate environment.
The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills, a compassionate approach, and a thorough understanding of medical procedures.

This is a hybrid/mobile role involving clinic-based and on-site workplace medicals across South Wales, so a full driving license is essential.
Duties
- Collect blood samples using venipuncture, capillary puncture, and other phlebotomy techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques during specimen collection to prevent contamination.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis and ensure proper labelling and documentation.
- Assist with occupational health assessments, including conducting health screenings.
- Support the implementation of health and safety protocols within the workplace.
- Maintain accurate records of all procedures performed, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and employees on pre-test preparations and post-procedure care.
- Assist in emergency situations using Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques when necessary.
- Support laboratory staff with specimen processing and related tasks as required.
- Adhere to infection control policies and ensure the cleanliness of work areas.
Experience
- Previous hospital or clinical experience is essential.
- Proven expertise in phlebotomy, with certification preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential for accurate specimen collection and patient interaction.
- Experience working with aseptic techniques in a healthcare setting.
- Experience working with paediatric patients (pediatrics) is beneficial but not essential. This role requires organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
