The Role
The firm seeks an experienced and ambitious assistant solicitor to join its general practice in Wem, Shropshire to draft and advise on wills, probate, lasting powers of attorney, deputyships, elderly client issues, trusts, tax and (largely domestic) conveyancing.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow and develop in a small and friendly collegiate working environment. He or she will have a good deal of autonomy on case files and must demonstrate a professional but friendly and approachable personality.
In addition the ideal candidate will then help manage and grow the existing team. The firm offers a competitive salary and a good work-life balance.
Assistant Solicitor
An assistant solicitor is now required for a well-regarded practice in Wem, Shropshire to take on a varied and interesting client caseload.
Full-Time/Part Time – Permanent
A minimum of 2-5 years PQE is required. Salary is dependent on experience and will be in line with that for the region.
Requirements
The Candidate will:
- Be a qualified solicitor or legal executive with a minimum of 2-5 years PQE and specialising in private client matters;
- Draft Wills and Codicils;
- Prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney;
- Probate Applications;
- Prepare and make Deputyship applications to the Court of Protection;
- Draft Deeds of Variation;
- Deal with complex probate matters with overseas assets;
- Have excellent client care skills;
- Have outstanding communication skills;
- Be proficient working independently and with minimum supervision;
- Be self-motivated and participate in networking;
- Share the firm’s core values.
