About Framptons
Framptons is continuing to grow, making this an exciting time to join us. Based in Shepton Mallet, we are a leading independent drinks co-packer specialising in plant-based, dairy and own-brand products for brand and retail customers.
Our skilled teams work across product development, technical, operations and supply chain to deliver high-quality products safely, efficiently and reliably. With in-house oat base manufacturing and strong capability across plant-based, dairy, and flavoured water formats, we are proud to support customers from product idea through to successful launch.
The Opportunity
Are you passionate about food, innovation and turning great product ideas into successful factory launches? We are looking for a Senior Process Development Technologist to join our NPD team and play a key role in bringing new and existing products to life.
This is a hands-on, varied role where you will take concept recipes and process methodology through bench, pilot and main plant trials, helping to create efficient, right-first-time factory processes that meet quality, food safety and customer expectations.
What You’ll Be Doing
· Lead and support process development activity from concept stage through to factory trials, first production and launch.
· Work closely with NPD, Operations, Technical, Quality and Supply Chain teams to deliver successful product outcomes.
· Manage trial documentation, blend sheets, QAS updates, batch traceability, yields and product quality requirements.
· Coordinate pre-trial and launch meetings, ensuring the right information is in place for smooth and effective delivery.
· Support customer-attended factory trials and ensure feedback is captured, shared and reflected in final documentation.
· Conduct and fully document product quality tastings for trials and launches, supporting quality attribute sheets and shelf-life assessments.
· Share results from trials, launches, taste panels and shelf-life assessments with key stakeholders.
· Help drive safe, compliant and efficient manufacturing processes in line with HACCP, site procedures and health and safety requirements.
What We’re Looking For
You will be an organised, practical and quality-focused individual with experience in food manufacturing and a genuine interest in product development. You will enjoy working at pace, solving problems and collaborating with different teams to get products factory-ready.
· A food-related qualification or at least three years’ experience within a food manufacturing environment.
· Experience in process development, NPD, technical or a closely related role.
· A good understanding of HACCP, factory processes, product quality and documentation requirements.
· Strong planning, communication and project management skills.
· Good attention to detail, Excel skills and general computer literacy.
· A proactive, methodical approach with the confidence to work independently and as part of a wider team.
· HACCP Level 2 or 3 and legal labelling knowledge would be advantageous.
Why Join Framptons?
You will join a collaborative NPD environment where your technical knowledge, practical approach and attention to detail will make a real impact. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the factory, working with cross-functional teams and seeing products progress from idea to successful launch.
If you are commercially aware, quality-driven and motivated by delivering practical solutions in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, we would love to hear from you.
