The Opportunity
We are seeking a Multi skilled Engineer to work within the engineering team of a fresh food business. Dealing with both breakdowns and working on their PPM schedule to reduce downtime and improve performance within the factory.
Duties and responsibilities -
- Work alongside Managers and Supervisors to maximise equipment efficiency and reduce downtime onsite.
- Carry out regular planned preventative maintenance across the site.
- Respond to breakdowns, minimising disruption to production and looking at route cause of the failure.
- Recommend solutions to further reduce downtime within the factory and ensure tasks can be completed as efficiently as possible.
- Identify and implement improvements in machine performance, working with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure machines are performing to the required standards.
- Complete maintenance, servicing, and general engineering tasks, escalating issues where necessary
- Safely carry out electrical maintenance and escalate any issues as required.
Experience -
- Proven experience as a mechanical and electrical engineer.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in the food manufacturing industry (desirable).
- A self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach.
- Flexibility and resilience to adapt to changing priorities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year

Experience:
- mechanical engineering in food manufacturing: 3 years (preferred)
- electrical engineering in the fresh food industry: 2 years (preferred)
