We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a keen interest in food and beverage operations. This role involves supporting daily cafe functions, ensuring a welcoming environment, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders with professionalism and courtesy
- Serve food and beverages accurately, ensuring presentation meets quality standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks in accordance with food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and kitchen surfaces
- Restock supplies and organise stock to ensure smooth daily operations
- Handle cash register transactions accurately and efficiently
- Support the team during busy periods by providing excellent customer service and teamwork
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe environment for staff and customers
Skills
- Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is desirable but not essential
- Barista experience or knowledge of coffee preparation is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Strong communication skills with a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
- Organised with good attention to detail in food presentation and cleanliness
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and customer service
- A proactive attitude with excellent teamwork abilities
