Care is Central Residential is seeking dedicated and experienced Chef to join the team at our state-of-the-art, luxury residential care home in the heart of Leighton Buzzard. Job Role:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for cooking and a strong commitment to creating nutritious, delicious, and beautifully presented meals that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
Your duties and care responsibilities will include:
Duties
To display exceptional leadership by providing a positive motivational work environment, supporting and communicating with employees as appropriate and demonstrating a professional approach to management.
- To oversee and provide direction for all day-to-day operations in the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
- To schedule and co-ordinate the work of the kitchen staff to ensure that food presentation is technically correct, and of outstanding quality.
- Interact with residents and use customer feedback, satisfaction survey results and the monthly Food and Beverage meeting to drive forward service.
- To work in conjunction with the Head Chef in developing and continuously improve the food and beverage/fine dining experience for our residents.
- Always maintain the safety of self and others and report any accidents or dangerous occurrences immediately to the Home Manager.
- Support the head chef in maintaining up to date records and complying with SFBB guidelines.
Requirements:
- Experience of working as a Chef/Sous Chef within a care home setting
- Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery or equivalent
- Knowledge of catering for the elderly and the importance of nutrition and fortified diets where appropriate.
- Staff Scheduling, stocktaking, product ordering and accountability.
- COSHH ‘Control of Substances Hazardous to Health’ trained and HACCP or SFBB aware.
- Strong good communications skills both written and verbal.
