The Role
We are seeking a Business Process and Operations Analyst to support the delivery of client consultancy projects involving business-process analysis, operational modelling, resource and capacity planning, risk assessment and performance improvement.
The successful candidate will collect and analyse business data, examine clients’ existing processes, model alternative operational scenarios and prepare practical recommendations for improving performance.
The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience of working with operational data and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to clients and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess clients’ business functions, objectives, operational requirements and existing working practices.
- Design appropriate methods for collecting operational and business data.
- Conduct client interviews, surveys, workshops, document reviews and process-observation exercises.
- Analyse workflow, demand, capacity, productivity, cost, staffing and resource-utilisation data.
- Prepare process maps and document existing and proposed operating models.
- Develop analytical models to assess operational performance and test alternative business scenarios.
- Identify process inefficiencies, capacity constraints, service-delivery risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Undertake options appraisals and evaluate the operational and financial impact of proposed changes.
- Prepare Excel-based models, KPI dashboards, risk registers and management reports.
- Develop recommendations for improving processes, resource allocation, productivity and customer service.
- Prepare business cases, operational plans, process documentation and implementation strategies.
- Present findings and recommendations to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Facilitate client meetings and workshops to gather requirements and agree proposed solutions.
- Support clients with implementing new processes, controls and performance-monitoring arrangements.
- Monitor agreed improvement measures and evaluate whether the intended outcomes have been achieved.
- Maintain accurate project records, methodologies, assumptions and supporting evidence.
- Work collaboratively with MCC’s management, business and technology consultants.
- Deliver assigned consultancy work within agreed deadlines, budgets and quality standards.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor’s or postgraduate qualification in Business Management, Business Analytics, International Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Data Analysis or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in business analysis, operational analysis, management consultancy, process improvement or a comparable analytical role.
- Experience collecting, validating and interpreting business or operational data.
- Experience assessing operational processes, demand, capacity or resource requirements.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and data-presentation tools.
- Ability to develop analytical models and evaluate alternative operational scenarios.
- Experience preparing professional reports, presentations and recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience engaging with clients, managers and other project stakeholders.
- Ability to explain technical or analytical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work within agreed deadlines.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within a management consultancy or client-facing analytical environment.
- Experience using Power BI, Tableau, process-mapping, simulation or other business-analysis software.
- Knowledge of business-process modelling and performance-management methodologies.
- Experience in demand forecasting, capacity planning or resource optimisation.
- Understanding of operational risk assessment and business-continuity planning.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, PRINCE2 or another recognised improvement or project-management methodology.
- Experience supporting the implementation and review of operational changes.
