The Role: Reporting to the Transport General Manager you will supervise workshop technicians, and an administrator, coordinate planned and reactive maintenance ensuring that all vehicles, trailers and associated fleet equipment are maintained safely, efficiently and in accordance with company standards and DVSA requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Management of daily workshop operations.
- Ensuring fleet compliance and maintaining accurate records.
- Oversee workshop planning, maintenance, vehicle defects and fleet availability.
- Supervise and develop workshop staff.
- Control of workshop and maintenance costs.
- Hands on, carrying out fault finding, repairs and maintenance for all fleet equipment.
- Facilitate out of hours breakdown support.
- Ensuring workshop adheres to applicable Health & Safety standards.
You will be required to have:-
- Previous experience within a HGV/commercial vehicle workshop environment.
- Excellent knowledge of HGV and trailer maintenance.
- Good understanding of DVSA roadworthiness and Operator Licence requirements.
- Proven supervisory or leading technicians within a workshop environment.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Comfortable using workshop/fleet maintenance systems and digital reporting tools.
- Strong commitment to vehicle safety and compliance.
Working Monday to Friday from 08:00 – 18:00.
