The League of Friends of the Royal United Hospitals (Bath) is an independent charity working in partnership with the Royal United Hospitals Bath, to provide a wide range of volunteering services for the benefit of the patients, staff, and visitors.
We run a busy Shop in the hospital providing sandwiches, Soft Drinks,Newspapers, Magazines, snacks, confectionery and Toiletries and much more to meet patient, staff and visitors needs.
We are looking for a part-time Shop Supervisor to join our team. The post holder will assist with the day to day running of our convenience Shop. Experience preferred but not essential as all training will be given.
Introduction
- To work as part of a professional team to produce a high-quality food and service to our customers.
- To assist the Retail Manager and the rest of the team to promote and improve service standards and the charity’s standing in the hospital.
- The Shop Supervisor will report to the Retail Manager
Key Duties
1. To be able to open and close the shop correctly.
2. Serving customers and working on the till, cash handling, and be competent in cashing up tills.
3. Provide a welcoming, warm, friendly, and helpful attitude to customers.
4. Ensure Shop is clean and tidy at all times.
5. Assist as required to deal with deliveries and storage of stock, stock control, and stock-taking.
6. be able to order stock on a regular basis through agreed suppliers.
7. Maintain high levels of personal hygiene are kept at all times.
8. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the Shop and comply with the Environmental Health Regulations at all times.
9. Use chemicals in accordance with COSHH training.
10. Ensure that all tasks are completed whilst complying with the statutory, Fire, Health, and Safety regulations.

- Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene - training will be given and course will be provided online
Legal Status
- Before the appointment, the successful applicant will be required to:
- Provide necessary information for an appropriate DBS disclosure to be undertaken.
- Prove eligibility to work in and travel freely to and from the UK.
- Provide proof of identity and (where applicable) qualifications
