The Castle Inn, Spofforth is looking for an engaging and passionate Assistant Manager who is ready to develop into a Deputy General Manager.
Working alongside the General Manager, you'll help lead the day-to-day operation of our busy pub, restaurant and boutique hotel, ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional experience while supporting and developing our fantastic team.

Opened in November 2016 following an extensive renovation, The Castle Inn combines a stylish pub and restaurant with twelve individually designed bedrooms and stunning function spaces. We continue to invest in both our people and our business, creating exciting opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the successful day-to-day operation of the pub, restaurant and hotel.
- Take full responsibility for the business in the General Manager's absence, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Ensure all Health & Safety and Food Safety legislation, standards and procedures are consistently met.
- Lead by example, coaching, motivating and developing the team to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Support the delivery of weekly site P&L targets with strong commercial and operational awareness.
- Maintain exceptional standards, demonstrating excellent attention to detail while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales, improve service standards and drive business growth.
- Build positive relationships with guests, resolving any issues professionally and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
- Use EPOS, reservation and property management systems confidently (full training will be provided where required).
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a confident and enthusiastic hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the front and is ready to take the next step in their management career.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality.
- Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication and people management skills.
- A passion for developing both yourself and those around you.
- The ability to remain calm, positive and professional under pressure.
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong commercial awareness with a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Confidence using computer systems; experience with EPOS, table reservation systems and hotel PMS would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
