Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their culinary skills within a professional kitchen environment. Working alongside experienced chefs, you will assist in food preparation, service, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and cooking of menu items to company standards.
- Support senior chefs during busy service periods.
- Prepare ingredients including vegetables, meats, sauces, and garnishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures at all times.
- Ensure stock is rotated correctly and stored safely.
- Assist with deliveries and stock management.
- Work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Contribute ideas for menu development and daily specials where appropriate.
- Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Requirements
- Previous kitchen experience is essential.
- A passion for food and hospitality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible regarding working hours.
- Knowledge of food hygiene practices (Food Hygiene Certificate desirable).
- Willingness to learn and progress within the hospitality industry.
