Aim
The aim of this post is to ensure that the club is a bright, safe and engaging place for children who attend the service and ensure that its staff are supported to deliver high quality services. The Deputy Manager of Tinto After School Care assist in all aspects of operating the club; day to day running of the club, its administration, staff management and working with the board to set its future direction.
Key Tasks
Service operation:
Ensure that the service provides a safe, nurturing environment for children P1 to P7 children between 4-12 who attend the service.
Ensure a clear programme of events and activities is in place for each day.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained in line with attendance numbers.
Ensure accurate record keeping of hours of attendance to enable monthly invoicing of parents / carers.
Ensure that the venue is fit for purpose and the appropriate equipment (toys, craft materials, food, etc) is available for the children.
Ensure that the environment is fit for purpose and appropriate health and safety / risk assessments are conducted.
Administration
Maintain accurate records for staff and children; ensuring compliance with GDPR and Care Commission guidelines.
Management
Provide clear supervision and management for all staff on site; providing direction and support to create a nurturing environment for staff and service users.
Recruitment and training and appraisal for all new members of staff.
Ensure ongoing support for staff learning and development.
Ensure that all standards of care are met and the club meets all reporting criteria for external governing agencies.
Maintain all records relating to the service ensuring confidentiality and data protection of the children, their families and members of staff.
Ensure the organisation operates within charity regulations and meets the OSCR guidelines.
Ensure that all policies and procedures are kept up to date and reviewed regularly.
Person Specification
Relevant training, experience and qualifications
SSSC registration
PVG membership
Good time management skills
Ability to engage and consult with parents, carers and children
Excellent communication skills – written / spoken / listening
