Penerley Solicitors is a growing London law firm with a modern, client-focused approach. We are looking to recruit a capable and commercially minded Junior Solicitor with 1-2 years’ PQE to join our expanding practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor seeking genuine responsibility, strong client exposure, and clear scope for progression within an ambitious firm.
The Role
The successful candidate will assist on, and where appropriate manage, a varied caseload for individual and business clients. The role will involve a mix of advisory work, drafting, negotiation, legal research, case management, and client contact across contentious and non-contentious matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
- Assisting senior solicitors on more complex matters
- Drafting and reviewing correspondence, agreements, pleadings, witness statements, applications, and other legal documents
- Advising clients in a clear, practical, and commercially aware manner
- Undertaking legal research and preparing case summaries and instructions
- Attending client meetings, conferences, hearings, and negotiations where required
- Maintaining high standards of client care, file management, and regulatory compliance
- Supporting business development and helping to build strong client relationships
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales
- 1-2 years’ post-qualification experience
- Strong drafting, analytical, and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Ability to work independently, while recognising when to seek supervision
- Proactive, professional, and team-oriented approach
- Strong attention to detail and sound commercial awareness
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience in private practice with a varied caseload
- Confidence in handling client contact from an early stage
- Familiarity with case management systems and modern legal technology
