We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Education & Learner Support Coordinator to join our Curriculum & Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for an education professional with experience in learner support, curriculum development and quality assurance within Further Education.
About the Role
As the Education & Learner Support Coordinator, you will play a key role in improving learner achievement, supporting inclusive teaching practices and contributing to the continuous improvement of teaching, learning and assessment across the College.
Working closely with curriculum staff, tutors and senior managers, you will coordinate learner support services, monitor learner progress and help ensure the College continues to deliver outstanding educational outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesLearner Support & Inclusion
- Assess individual learner needs, including SEND, ESOL and additional learning support requirements.
- Develop and implement Individual Learning Support Plans.
- Deliver one-to-one and small-group learner support sessions.
- Support learners with study skills, English, Functional Skills and academic development.
- Advise tutors on differentiation, reasonable adjustments and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Coordinate intervention plans to improve learner attendance, retention, achievement and progression.
- Monitor learner performance and maintain accurate support records.
Curriculum & Quality
- Support curriculum planning and the development of teaching and learning resources.
- Contribute to Internal Quality Assurance activities, including learning walks, standardisation meetings and resource reviews.
- Analyse learner achievement, retention and progression data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Produce reports and recommendations for the senior leadership team.
- Assist with preparation for awarding organisation visits, external quality assurance and inspection activities.
Staff Development & Safeguarding
- Design and deliver CPD sessions on inclusive practice, learner engagement and effective classroom strategies.
- Support staff in implementing best practice for teaching, learning and assessment.
- Promote safeguarding, Prevent and learner wellbeing throughout the College.
- Act as a point of contact for learner welfare concerns and work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, awarding organisation requirements and College policies.
What We're Looking For Essential
- Degree in Education or a related subject.
- Experience teaching within Further Education, Secondary Education or Adult Education.
- Experience supporting learners with SEND or additional learning needs.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within education.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience analysing learner performance data and producing reports.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and learner management systems.
Desirable
- Experience working with City & Guilds or other vocational awarding organisations.
- Knowledge of Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) processes.
- Experience developing digital learning resources.
- Experience managing educational content across websites or social media platforms.
- Relevant teaching qualification and ongoing professional development.
