Role Overview:
This role is ideal for someone looking to start or develop a career in bathroom design within a busy building and maintenance company specialising in disabled adaptations, level access showers and wet rooms. Working alongside our experienced Technical Manager, Project Managers and the Adaptation Team, you will learn to design practical, safe, functional and attractive accessible bathrooms that improve customers’ independence. Full training and mentoring will be provided.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Visit customers in their homes and take accurate bathroom measurements.
- Understand the plumbing requirements within the bathroom
- Learn to interpret Occupational Therapist recommendations and Disabled Facilities Grant requirements.
- Laise with both the occupational therapist / technical officer for clarifications/approval on designs where necessary.
- Assist with designing level access showers, wet rooms and accessible bathrooms.
- Select suitable sanitaryware, wall tiles and flooring with customer.
- Prepare material schedules for ordering.
- Liaise with Contracts Managers, installers and suppliers.
- Ensure designs are practical, compliant and buildable.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Progress to produce bathroom layouts using CAD software as and when required (training provided).
- Opportunity to develop into other areas of disabled adaptation design such as adapted kitchens, ramps, steps, assisted living etc.
Training and Development Opportunities
Structured training will be provided in accessible bathroom design, product knowledge, site measuring, customer care and interpreting Occupational Therapist recommendations. The successful candidate will receive ongoing mentoring and have clear opportunities to progress into a fully qualified Disabled Bathroom Designer.

Starting salary is negotiable from £27,000 depending on previous experience and qualifications, salary will increase as training stages are achieved.
Qualifications / Achievements
Essential : Minimum GCSE Grade 5 and above including Maths and EnglishDesirable: Level 4 in a construction specific qualification which may include, Surveying Technician, Quantity Surveying, Construction Site Supervising, Health and Safety or HNC Construction and Property.
