Event Supervisor
We are looking for a hands-on Event Supervisor to join our team and support the operational delivery of high-quality events across Bristol Beacon, one of Bristol’s leading live entertainment venues.
This is an event delivery role rather than an event-planning position. You will be working on the floor during live events, helping to set up spaces, lead the event team, support service, respond to operational issues and complete the close-down after each event.
The role covers live performances, conferences, private hires and large-scale venue activity. You will help ensure each event is delivered safely and efficiently, guests receive a professional and welcoming experience, and all operational standards are maintained throughout the shift.
You will be expected to lead by example and work alongside the team, taking an active role in event setup, guest service, event delivery, room resets and closing procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesHands-On Event Delivery
- Lead and actively support the operational delivery of events across the venue.
- Work alongside the team to set up event spaces, including furniture, service areas, equipment and guest-facing spaces.
- Ensure rooms are presented correctly and ready before guests arrive.
- Support food, drink and hospitality service where required.
- Remain present and visible throughout the event, monitoring service and responding quickly to operational needs.
- Assist with room changes, furniture moves, replenishment, clearing and resetting spaces during and after events.
- Complete opening, event delivery and closing procedures.
- Ensure all areas are cleared, cleaned, reset and left ready for the next event.
- Liaise with managers, clients, internal teams and venue departments during the event where required.
Team Leadership
- Supervise event staff while working alongside them during the shift.
- Allocate team positions and provide clear pre-event briefings.
- Ensure team members understand their responsibilities, timings and service standards.
- Support new team members with practical training and venue procedures.
- Maintain clear communication throughout the event.
- Identify where additional support is needed and redeploy the team accordingly.
- Help create a positive, professional and supportive working environment.
Guest Experience
- Deliver a friendly, confident and professional guest experience..
- Monitor guest areas and ensure they remain safe, clean and well presented.
- Resolve minor operational or guest issues effectively and escalate more serious matters when required.
- Ensure the venue feels welcoming, organised and well managed throughout the event.
Compliance and Operational Standards
- Follow all health and safety, fire safety, food safety and venue procedures.
- Ensure event teams follow company policies and agreed operating procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation.
- Complete required checks and event paperwork accurately.
- Report incidents, hazards, maintenance issues or service concerns promptly.
- Support safe manual handling when moving furniture, stock and event equipment.

- Previous experience in events, hospitality, visitor experience or venue operations.
- Experience supervising or leading teams in a busy live environment.
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work alongside the team.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Calm, confident and organised under pressure.
- The ability to respond quickly to changing operational requirements.
- A guest-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable undertaking physical event duties, including setting up, clearing and resetting spaces.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and late finishes.

Pay: £31,000.00 per year
