We pride ourselves on delivering a fast, reliable, and professional service, supported by a dedicated team of experienced drivers, yard operatives, and branch staff.
We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our friendly and supportive team.
The Role
As a Yard Operative, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our busy builders' merchant yard. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient working environment while providing excellent service to customers and supporting colleagues across the branch.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Picking and preparing customer orders accurately.
- Assisting customers with collecting building materials and products.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised yard environment.
- Receiving and checking incoming deliveries.
- Stocking and replenishing products within the yard.
- Following all health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Supporting colleagues and contributing to the smooth running of the branch.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday. 7:30am - 5:00pm (including a one-hour lunch break).
- Alternate Saturdays: 7:00am – 11:00am.

Desirable
- Previous experience working in a builders' merchant, warehouse, yard, or construction environment.
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
- Knowledge of building materials and products.
