Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery and Collection Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting clothing, household items and textiles ("rags") from designated charity shops, complete payments to each shop as required, and transport the collected goods safely back to our warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the company vehicle to scheduled charity shop collections.
- Load and unload bags of clothing and textiles safely and efficiently.
- Count or verify collected stock where required.
- Make agreed payments to charity shops and obtain receipts or signatures as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of collections, payments, and deliveries.
- Transport collected goods safely back to the warehouse.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept clean, roadworthy, and secure.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with charity shop staff.
- Follow all company policies, health and safety procedures, and road traffic regulations.
- Assist with other warehouse or collection duties when required.
Skills
- Full, valid driving licence.
- Good knowledge of safe driving practices.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physically fit and able to lift and move bags of clothing.
- Able to work independently and manage a collection schedule.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within logistics or warehouse environments
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and responsibility at all times
