Robinson Brothers Ltd is an independent, family owned, company manufacturing organic chemicals for the Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical, Rubber, Polymer, Food & Beverage and allied industries, operating from West Bromwich in the West Midlands.
We are recruiting for a Head of Supply Chain, to ensure effective and efficient management of the warehousing and purchasing function by driving efficiency in warehouse management and developing and driving procurement strategy. Partnering with the Sales and Operations team to develop and deliver Sales and Operations plan requirements.
Duties will involve:
- Own the end‑to‑end forecasting, purchasing, and logistics processes for all raw materials, packaging, and resale products, ensuring availability aligned with production and sales plans.
- Manage all warehouse operations and stock levels, maintaining accurate inventory, optimising storage capacity, and ensuring efficient material flow.
- Oversee the procurement of engineering equipment and spare parts, ensuring timely ordering, cost efficiency, and alignment with maintenance requirements.
- Define and implement an optimal procurement strategy, setting clear expectations with stakeholders and delivering measurable cost‑reduction initiatives.
- Partner closely with the Finance Manager to streamline, automate, and simplify the procure‑to‑pay (P2P) process, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Provide oversight and coordination of Gate House Security operations, ensuring appropriate staffing, adherence to site security protocols, and effective control of site access.
- Collaborating closely with Finance and Operations to coordinate and deliver accurate twice‑yearly stock counts, ensuring compliance, resolving discrepancies and strengthening inventory controls.
- Maintain optimal stock levels and ensure accurate inventory control
- Execute procurement strategy and achieve annual cost‑saving targets
- Ensure efficient, compliant warehousing and logistics operations
- Lead supplier performance, contract compliance, and risk management
- Partner with Finance to streamline and automate the procure‑to‑pay process
- Oversee site access and security standards through Gate House operations
- Provide accurate forecasting and reporting for materials, stock, and spend
- Ensure health, safety, and regulatory compliance across all supply chain activities
- Accountable for total procurement spend across raw materials, packaging, resale products, and engineering supplies
- Responsible for warehousing and logistics operating budgets
- Manages inventory holding value, stock accuracy, and reduction of write‑offs
Skills & Qualification required
- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) – Level 6
- Significant experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated and driven to achieve personal and team goals
- Evaluate unforeseen changes, identify resolutions, and implement solutions promptly
