Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV 2 Plant Lorry Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of plant equipment and materials to various sites. This role requires a valid HGV 2 licence, experience in commercial driving, and a strong commitment to safety and punctuality. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with delivery driver experience and a background in flatbed driving to contribute to our operations.
Duties
- Operate HGV 2 lorries with flatbed attachments to transport plant machinery and materials
- Ensure all deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule
- Conduct pre-journey safety inspections of the vehicle and report any issues promptly
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams
- Follow all road safety laws and company policies during transit
- Assist with securing loads on flatbeds to prevent movement during transit
- Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is kept clean and well-maintained
Experience
- Valid HGV 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with a strong understanding of route planning and time management
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to transportation and loading procedures
- Ability to operate flatbeds safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and vehicle maintenance
Experience in loading excavators up too 14t and all other types of tracked and wheeled plant
Pay: £1.00-£850.00 per week
