About the Role
We are seeking an organised, proactive and client-focused Business Support Assistant to join our growing professional services team in Harrogate.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a varied role at the heart of a busy office environment. The successful candidate will provide administrative, operational and client support across the business, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office whilst delivering an exceptional service to clients and colleagues.
The role offers broad exposure across administration, client onboarding, compliance support, communications and general business operations, making it ideal for someone looking to develop a long-term career within a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Operational Support
- Provide general administrative support across the business.
- Assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
- Manage incoming telephone calls, emails and enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper-based records.
- Support document production, filing and correspondence activities.
- Coordinate meetings, appointments and diary arrangements as required.
- Assist with office systems, processes and procedures to support operational efficiency.
Client Service & Communications
- Act as a welcoming and professional point of contact for clients and visitors.
- Build positive relationships with clients through effective communication and excellent service.
- Support client communications and correspondence.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of client-facing materials and updates.
- Ensure client information is handled confidentially and in accordance with relevant policies.
Compliance & Onboarding Support
- Assist with client and staff onboarding processes and administrative requirements.
- Support the completion of identification and verification procedures.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation.
- Assist with monitoring and updating internal records and systems.
Finance & Business Support
- Support relationships with external suppliers and service providers.
- Help maintain office resources and ordering processes.
- Provide general support to managers and senior team members on business projects and initiatives.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in an administrative, office support, client services or business support role.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Professional and confident telephone manner.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work accurately under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- A proactive and positive approach with willingness to support a variety of business functions.
- High standards of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
Desirable
- Experience within a professional services, legal, property, financial services or consultancy environment.
- Exposure to client and staff onboarding or compliance-related processes.
- Experience supporting communications activities.
- Knowledge of CRM, practice management or business systems.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, Canva, WordPress or similar tools.
