We’re seeking a Warehouse Manager to lead the daily operations of our fast-paced warehouse, ensuring efficient workflows, accurate stock control, and strong team performance. Reporting to our Commercial Director, you’ll oversee barcoding integrity, maintain high safety and housekeeping standards, and uphold a well-organised warehouse environment.
Our normal working hours will be 40 hours per week: Monday- Friday 8-5pm.
Salary
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for all direct activities of warehouse staff, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
- Provide strong people management, including daily supervision, workload planning and team motivation.
- Lead ongoing development of warehouse operatives, address performance issues promptly and constructively.
- Foster a positive team culture, promoting communication, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Responsible managing the training and performance of warehouse operatives.
- Manage and maintain the warehouse barcoding system, ensuring accurate product labelling, scanning compliance, and timely updates to barcoding data.
- Conduct regular audits of the barcoding process to identify errors, implement corrective actions, and improve system integrity.
- Responsible for full and accurate stock takes, investigating any discrepancies and implementing actions to prevent recurrence.
- FLT driving, including loading and unloading from curtain side vehicles, vans, and containers.
- Experience in picking goods accurately and building pallets safely.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately; investigate any queries or inconsistencies and resolve issues as they arise.
- Ensure the warehouse/yard is kept clean, tidy, and compliant with health & safety requirements; ensure spillages are promptly cleared and waste is minimised.
- Work closely with the Purchasing Manager and Operations/Production teams.
- Promote and maintain good housekeeping across all work areas.
- Adaptable and flexible in approach to work.
Experience and skills required
Essential:
- Previous experience of working within a fast-paced warehousing operation
- Must have an up to date FTL licence
- Must have a full UK driving licence
- Possess strong interpersonal skills
- Previous experience of picking goods accurately and building pallets using Health & Safety procedures
- High degree of attention to detail and recognises the importance of timely completion of tasks
- To have lead a team.
Desirable:
- Experience of working within a barcode managed warehouse system would be beneficial.
- Familiar with Outlook for emails
- Familiar with Microsoft suite.
