We are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our fast-paced manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a wide range of advanced CNC and automated manufacturing equipment, playing a key role in keeping production running safely and efficiently.
You will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults, improving equipment reliability, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Reactive Maintenance & Fault Diagnosis
· Diagnose and repair faults on a variety of production equipment, including CNC mills, lathes, wash plants, ECM machines, and site infrastructure.
· Carry out repairs using the correct maintenance procedures and documentation.
· Apply strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills to minimise downtime.
· Escalate recurring or complex issues promptly to senior members of the maintenance team.
· Take a proactive approach to maintenance by identifying and addressing additional defects or potential failure points while equipment is being repaired—leaving every machine in a better condition than you found it.
Planned & Preventive Maintenance
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work is fully documented.
- Monitor building services and plant systems, reporting any concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
- Manage and monitor process fluids, including titration and bacteria testing.
- Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Design, modify, and improve site-specific equipment where required.
- Support the maintenance and development of building systems, ensuring compliance with legislative and health and safety requirements.
- Contribute to multiple engineering projects while effectively managing priorities and deadlines.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager with maintenance statistics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience maintaining CNC machinery within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven maintenance experience in a production or industrial setting.
- Multi-skilled engineering knowledge, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working with planned preventive maintenance schedules and maintenance documentation.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
- A reliable, self-motivated individual with a proactive attitude and excellent teamwork skills.
Desirable
- Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or a completed engineering apprenticeship).
- Experience using CMMS or computerised maintenance management systems.
- PLC fault-finding experience (Siemens or similar).
- 18th Edition Electrical Regulations qualification or equivalent electrical certification.
- Experience mentoring apprentices or supporting junior engineers
