Saintbridge Pharmacy, operated by Avender Pharma, is looking for a patient-focused, GPhC-registered Community Pharmacist to join our Gloucester team.
We offer flexibility in how the position is filled and will consider either:
- One full-time pharmacist working 47.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday; or
- Two permanent part-time pharmacists working on a job-share basis.
Our pharmacy is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 6:30pm. A typical job-share arrangement could be:
- Monday to Wednesday; and
- Thursday to Friday.
Alternative fixed-day arrangements may also be considered, provided the successful applicants’ availability gives the pharmacy full Monday-to-Friday coverage. Part-time applicants are welcome to apply individually and should state their preferred working days in their application.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive community pharmacy delivering a range of NHS and private clinical services, with a stable weekday working pattern and no weekend shifts.

Your responsibilities
- Act as the Responsible Pharmacist and maintain safe, accurate and efficient pharmacy operations
- Complete clinical and accuracy checks and provide clear medicines counselling
- Deliver NHS and private services within your competence, including Pharmacy First, the New Medicine Service, blood-pressure checks, contraception services, vaccinations and travel health
- Respond professionally and compassionately to patients’ questions and healthcare needs
- Maintain accurate patient, governance, service and stock-control records
- Ensure medicines are stored, supplied and managed safely
- Support, supervise and develop members of the dispensary team
- Maintain compliance with GPhC standards, standard operating procedures and all relevant legal and professional requirements
- Build trusted relationships with patients, local healthcare professionals and the surrounding community
What you will need
Essential
- Current registration as a pharmacist with the GPhC
- Eligibility to practise as a pharmacist in Great Britain
- A strong commitment to patient safety and professional standards
- Clear, compassionate and professional communication skills
- Confidence working independently while supporting the wider pharmacy team
- Good organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills
Desirable
- At least one year of post-registration community-pharmacy experience
- Experience delivering Pharmacy First, vaccinations, the New Medicine Service or other clinical services
- Experience supervising or supporting pharmacy team members
Strong newly qualified pharmacists will also be considered where they can demonstrate the appropriate clinical knowledge, professional judgement and patient-focused approach.
