To work alongside experienced groundworkers while completing a Level 2 Groundworker Apprenticeship, developing the skills and knowledge required to carry out groundworks safely and to industry standards.
Key Duties
- Assist with the installation of drainage systems, including pipes, manholes, and inspection chambers.
- Support road construction by preparing foundations and laying sub-base materials.
- Install pavements, block paving, and slabs to the required line and level.
- Assist with the installation of kerbs, edgings, and channels.
- Support the construction of retaining structures following drawings and specifications.
- Use hand tools and small plant safely under supervision.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area.
- Attend off-the-job training and complete all apprenticeship requirements.
