Suresite Group is currently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Assessor to join their field operations team, on a full time permanent basis. The successful candidate will be expected to cover the Midlands attending client sites on a regular basis, with the flexibility to cover other areas at times of annual leave or sickness. (Ideally centrally based in Birmingham).
IDENTIFICATION OF POST
POST TITLE Health & Safety Assessor
FUNCTION To carry out inspections, assessments, audits and training on customer premises throughout the designated geographic area and where required.
RESPONSIBLE TO Health and Safety Manager
ROLE PURPOSE
To contribute to safer working practices and conditions within the UK and Ireland, reducing the potential for accidents and emergencies and encouraging continued customer input to the improvement of safety on their sites. The successful candidate will be expected to promote Health & Safety products and services with a view to attracting new business and increasing Suresite’s customer base.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role will involve:
· Carrying out inspections, assessments, audits and hazardous area diagrams on customer premises, focusing on Health and Safety compliance by use of a Surface Pro application.
· Delivering Health and Safety services to clients in line with managerial work instructions and ensuring that the highest standards of client service are maintained.
· Delivering face to face training on client premises where requested.
· Attending meetings at Head Office (Preston) as and when required (anticipate around twice per year).
POST SPECIFICATION
We are looking for a competent individual with excellent communications skills, who is able to self-manage and have a hands-on approach. The successful candidate must be a diligent team player with a can-do attitude and the passion to generate and increase business for Suresite Group Limited. A well organised individual, they will be expected to manage their own diary, arrange visits and liaise effectively with clients on a daily basis (including managing directors, area managers and industry bodies).
The successful candidate will be resilient, hardworking, adaptable and able to work under pressure, whilst meeting both inspection and submission deadlines. They will assist quality assurance and client retention by ensuring KPI’s and any other performance measure or client specification is met, as well as exercising and evidencing the Suresite company values of outstanding service, designing new and improved ways of doing things, creating an environment of trust and transparency and making a real difference to Suresite customers.
The post may require some out of hours working and overnight stays in order to facilitate cost and business efficiencies. The use of your own vehicle and a clean driving licence is required. Car allowance and mileage allowance is applicable for this posting. The ability to work effectively under limited supervision is a must.

Knowledge and Experience Essential
· Extensive knowledge of Health & Safety
· Experience of providing Health & Safety advice

· At least 3 years of recent experience in a similar role
Desirable
· NEBOSH general certificate (or equivalent) or higher
· Experience of working in petrol forecourt and/or motor industry.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 depending on qualifications and experience plus £440 per month Car Allowance
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week. Flexible start and finish times between 7:00am & 6:00pm
Duration of post: This position is offered on a permanent basis.
Holidays: 23 days, plus bank holidays per annum (Pro Rata). You will receive extra day holiday for your birthday and additional time of over Christmas.
