Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, with a focus on promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for those we support.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Engage in activities that promote physical and mental stimulation for clients, including recreational activities.
- Support clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
- Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for both clients and staff.
- Provide specialised care for individuals with conditions such as dementia or other cognitive impairments.
Experience
- Previous experience in a caregiving role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Skills in first aid and medication administration are highly desirable.
- Experience in childcare or assisted living environments is an advantage.
- A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate client transport needs.
- A compassionate approach to care with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
