We are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Associate to join our Business Insolvency team. This is a key role within the company, managing complex corporate insolvency matters. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and proven experience in formal insolvency processes.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Senior Managing Associates and Partners, develop client relationships, and progress towards leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a portfolio of corporate insolvency cases, including:
- Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidations (CVLs)
- Administrations
- Compulsory Liquidations
- Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVAs)
- Oversee case progression and compliance with insolvency regulations and statutory requirements.
- Prepare all relevant documentation, reports and creditor correspondence.
- Manage communications with stakeholders including creditors, directors, solicitors, agents and the Insolvency Service.
- Liaise with accountants, solicitors, and other professionals to assess viability, restructure, or wind-down options.
- Maintain accurate time recording, billing and case budgets.
- Ensure all work complies with internal risk controls, SIPs, and regulatory obligations (IPA, ICAEW, SRA, FCA etc.).
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in corporate insolvency.
- CPI qualified or equivalent.
- Demonstrable case management experience in CVLs, Administrations, and Compulsory Liquidations.
- Strong technical knowledge of the Insolvency Act, SIPs, and best practice.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and teams.
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in insolvency case management systems (e.g. IPS).
- Highly organised with attention to detail.
Desirable:
- JIEB qualified or actively studying.
- Experience with contentious insolvency or cross-border appointments.
- Experience supporting business development or marketing efforts.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Core hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM.
