River Woodwork is looking for an experienced and motivated Section Leader to lead a skilled team producing high-quality, bespoke joinery for residential projects.
The successful candidate will combine strong practical joinery skills with the ability to organise people, manage production priorities and maintain consistently high standards of workmanship. You will take responsibility for coordinating a section of the workshop team from drawings and specifications through to manufacture.
The company has recently made an exciting move to a spacious, new facility in Leatherhead.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support a team of up to eight skilled joiners.
- Allocate work and ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.
- Monitor team performance, productivity and quality.
- Ensure work is manufactured accurately and to the required design and quality standards.
- Cabinet making on less time-sensitive jobs.
- Promote a positive, professional and safety-conscious workshop environment.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Significant experience in bespoke or high-end joinery manufacture.
- Strong practical joinery and woodworking skills.
- Previous experience supervising or leading a team within a joinery workshop.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good understanding of workshop machinery, tools and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to organise workload and meet demanding deadlines.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with management, designers and other trades.
Our Package and benefits:
- Competitive rates of pay, dependant on experience.
- 40 Hours Across 5 Days, 7am to 4pm
- Overtime available, 1.25x in the week and 1.5x at weekends.
