A rare Director level opportunity has arisen for one of London's most prestigious private landed estates.
This privately owned estate has quietly shaped one of London's most iconic areas for generations. Today it manages a mixed-use portfolio, and their approach is to combine long-term stewardship of the area and their properties with ambitious commercial asset management.
Following a recent leadership transition, the estate is investing in a more institutional approach to portfolio management, bringing together the best qualities of a traditional landed estate with a modern, commercially driven operating model. This newly appointed Property Director will play a central role in that transformation.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you'll become the estate's principal property adviser, leading the commercial strategy across an exceptional Central London portfolio while working closely with the Board and Trustees on the estate's long-term vision.
You'll shape leasing strategy, curate occupier mix, oversee major lease events and capital projects, and influence how one of London's most recognisable neighbourhoods evolves over the coming years.
The estate's residential portfolio is supported by an established in-house team, allowing this role to maintain a strong commercial focus while providing strategic oversight across the whole portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial asset management strategy
- Drive leasing activity, tenant selection and long-term placemaking initiatives
- Shape occupier mix, balancing commercial performance with the estate's distinctive character
- Oversee major lease events including renewals, regears, rent reviews, dilapidations and complex landlord & tenant matters
- Lead capital improvement initiatives alongside external consultants and advisers
- Provide strategic oversight of compliance, building operations and estate-wide property performance
- Present investment recommendations and property strategy to senior leadership, Board members and Trustees.
About You
You'll be a commercially astute Asset Manager with significant landlord-side experience across Central London real estate.
We're particularly interested in candidates who bring:
- MRICS qualification.
- Strong commercial asset management and landlord & tenant expertise.
- Experience across retail, restaurant and mixed-use assets.
- A track record of negotiating complex lease transactions and delivering asset management initiatives.
- Confidence operating at Board level while remaining close enough to the detail to drive execution.
- An appreciation for long-term ownership models where placemaking and stewardship are valued alongside financial performance.
- Experience within a landed estate, family office, private property company, REIT or other long-term owner would be particularly relevant.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Asset Manager seeking a role where strategic thinking, commercial performance and long-term stewardship sit at the heart of the brief.
