Marina la Cucina in Porthmadog is seeking a talented and passionate Cook/Chef to join our team. We specialise on Italian cousine with fresh ingredients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience working in busy kitchen environments. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing up and sanitising work surfaces
- Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist with meal planning and ingredient ordering as needed
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or issues promptly
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Serve meals efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Assist in training new kitchen staff and interns as required
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a restaurant or catering environment with Italian cousine experiences.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Experience with meal preparation across various cuisines is desirable
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not essential for enthusiastic learners
- A genuine passion for culinary arts and creating high-quality dishes
